We grew-up with stories of Gimik, Tabing Ilog and TGIS when we were young, this is a period that our desire is enormous to change the world. Our ideologies are on the highest stake that we want to implement drastic change in our environment, community, society and country. But did we attain something in our lives, did we create changes in our society or even a ripple to create change? Find-out as we will share to you the review of Friendships and Camaraderie from youthful days up to the recent story of our lives.
I am not really in tuned to the world, but I am a fighter when I was studying in College. I just needed to graduate and go out of the country to work and fulfill my simple dreams. This is to build our house and bring my parents on tour or vacation whether local or overseas…not much in-depth dreams. I encountered so much struggles during my college days as no one is guiding me on what career is suited for me. Back then, I am getting inspiration that one day I will escape my life’s desperation. But I know that only myself can provide focus and answer on how I want to spend it.
I worked as Student Assistant at SURP Library in UP with Fidel Ian Flojo who was my batchmate at Sisters of Mary. I stayed in Narra Residence Hall where I met many bright and talented people including Johnoy Danao (Concert King), Pocholo Gonzales (Voice Master), my Bestfriend Alex who is a lawyer and a genius (as I joked him) based now in Australia, and many more who came from different provinces like me. I think Narra is one of the best places that I can imagine nowadays.
After graduation in college, no one is guiding me on where to work. I have no padrino or wasta or mafia to help me create my direction. Some people are there to help but it is limited, some people want only your presence and others want to enjoy your youthful days. But that’s maybe life and I learned from that experienced.
I worked and worked hard for 13 years here in abroad from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria and Kuwait. I know I achieved something, but your mind is kept on saying that it is never enough. It is maybe because I am preoccupied with the influence, or partly because I am fulfilling the insecurities of other people.
Part of my journey in life is to travel on different places. I traveled to different places of UK from London to Edinburgh. I have seen Oxford, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, Greenwich, Trafalgar, Windsor and rest of tourist spots of UK. I have watched Miss Saigon starring Rachel Ann Go and eat at Filipino Restaurant in Earls Court… (read and watch our video in YouTube for more countries I visited to give you inspiration) but still looking for more, maybe because I want to achieve more!
Now I know what I want…I want to fulfill doing my own business. I cannot do this without the partnership of my real brother who guide me on where direction to go. Meet Jeri who is my business partner here at Jericho’s Place. A wonderful person inside and out who has the same desire to succeed. He is talented in many ways who traveled to 75 countries and territories but still the same person as I met him.
A lesson learned, never neglect people who are providing important clues to you while you are struggling because they are the people who will lead you to success. Because life is like a jigsaw puzzle that you get clues from different kind of people but learn to dissect to choose the trusted and real people who will guide you on the process.
I am still struggling with my life the same for some of you out there, but I set now my priorities and alternatives through the lesson learned I experienced from other people I met along my journey, that’s where I am now…how about you?
