Volcano Safety Tips

Here are a few safety tips to keep in mind in case of volcanic eruption like the current situation happening at Taal Volcano, Philippines.

• Keep updated for emergency information and alerts.
• Follow evacuation or shelter procedures.
• Keep important documents in a safe place.
• Avoid areas downstream of the eruption and low-lying areas.
• Do not drive in heavy ash fall. Driving will stir up volcanic ash that can clog engines and stall vehicles.
• Use a certified face mask whenever possible such as N-95. While a dusk mask can be used as a last resort.
• Call, sms or use social media to reach out your family and friends.
